I need links desperatley

Submitted by FoxxEnoch on February 14, 2008 - 2:56pm

Heres the deal. I want to make something very similar to Mojopac, but able to run portably and wrap the registry. I want to do it in C++ but I can't find any tutorials or anything useful that I can access (school firewall). Does anybody know of ANY sites that would be useful to me? I want to do this as a sort of learning experience.

Slow Flash Drive?

Submitted by GlennCoco on February 13, 2008 - 10:54am

So I have a feeling my flash drive is slow. I've noticed that using my portable Firefox on it is sluggish. I ditched a bunch of extensions and still it is slow.

Also, transferring big files seems to me to take longer than it should. I'm moving a 60MB file over and it is taking more than an hour. I know it is a big file, but still...

Are my expectations too high? Are there differences in speeds of flash drives? I have a 4GB Sandisk U3 drive that I took the U3 off of.

Linux distro...?

Submitted by King Tut on February 11, 2008 - 4:29am

I'm thinking about installed Linux and messing around with that for a while.
What would be the best distribution for me? I have mostly been using XP all my life, but my main computer is running Vista.
I'm not looking for a distribution that would be easy for me to adapt into, but simply the 'best' one. The one with the most (useful) features, the best UI, etc etc.
