Do you notice what happens when you search portable on sourceforge? You get PortableApps, PortableApps for Mac, Liberta, and almost all the apps you'd ever want!

Is Mr. Haller going to use another distro as his base or is he starting from the kernel? If so what distro?

Found this on yahoo news. the 2nd paragraph from the end is where it mentions us, PortableApps.com, about making software for flash drives! I just thought I'd bring this to the attention of the PortableApps.com members.

I think the default icons for file associations in 7zip are REALLY ugly. I came across an app called XPize that replaces several icons from windows system files and in apps such as 7zip. The issue was that the replacement 7zip icons were only for 4 of the compression formats (zip, 7z, iso and tar). Using those icons as a guide, I created a full replacement icon set. They can replace all 15 icons embedded in 7z.dll. Use ResourceHacker to make the changes.

I need an movie maker program that has an interface like windows movie maker (simple drag and drop on a timeline, live preview, and so on). It cannot depend on windows media player (it broke) and preferably open source. I found Jashaka, but it requires 3 other programs to function. Oh, and I'm planning to portableize it. P.s. what would happen if your were to copy it onto a flash drive?

Who here hates Vista because of it's outrageous system requirements, lockups, and general suckeyness. I do. But, it looks good. So whats the solution?

Get Vista Inspirat 2. It works great. It has many features, looks almost exactly like Vista, doesn't slow down your computer, and has a dock type app launcher that makes things much easier. Please check it out. I'm not sure what the web sight is but just type in Vista Inspirat 2 in google. It's like a 30 or so MB download and takes awhile to install but its awesome.
