I am looking for a strategy to run portable apps on all my workstations which run Linux. That includes ARM processors, such as the Raspberry Pi Version 2, an ARM V7 processor. That appears to mean running QEMU to emulate an Intel processor and then Wine on top of that to emulate Windows. Does anybody have any experience with that? I would be pleased to buy a Carbide drive if it came configured to run on both Intel and ARM processors and both Windows and Linux operations systems.

Does a portable Firefox (usually) create over 2, 3 millions or even more of temp files in 14 days on C:? They are not created in its program folder?

About 2 weeks ago I deleted over 2 millions temp files on C: and today I did again, about 2, 3 millions or even more.

Is there a program that automatically could delete these files?

These files were located somewhere here (there was an endless path, do not no why): C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Anwendungsdaten\Anwendungsdaten\Anwendungsdaten\Anwendungsdaten\Anwendungsdaten...

Hello! I made a replacement for the PortableApps.com Menu's default theme, to make it look more like Windows 8. To install it, extract the "Default" folder from the zip, and (after backing up the original,) move the folder to X:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\Graphics\Themes, and overwrite the original. The theme has most of the background colors replaced with ones that are closer to Windows 8, too, so be sure to check them all out! Other than the scroll icons, none of the icons are replaced.

I am searching desperately for
- a rather simple email app (sophistication level: Outlook Express)
- that I could adapt for my purposes, develop it further for future use etc.
- Something like Koma-Mail (which unfortunately isn't opensource) ...

... but until now without success.

Does anyone have a hot tip?

The "Mark All As Read" function has disappeared from the Recent Posts page with the recent changes. That was a nice feature and I wonder if it will return.

I have an application that I'd like to make portable but I have a few questions. This application has a strict licensing security feature that checks system hardware configuration/computer name (and no doubt registry keys), and records this information on their server when it is installed/registered (the same software process). When the application is run, the software checks this hardware/system information and compares it to the server to determine if it is allowed to run on that computer.

In the past, space requirements for USB media was about 2GB.
Today, 2 GB seems no longer sufficient.
With the latest version, what are the minimum space requirement for the USB media?

How to remove the "portableapps.com" and logo from the bottom right hand corner of the menu? I can't give presentations at University with advertising on it - made the mistake of unwittingly doing this before and got a scolding from my lecturer.

Also, is there any way to change the taskbar icon (the grey arrow logo) - I would enjoy a slightly tidier one.

Is there a sync-program being as fast and reliable as FreeFileSync having not less options?

I have tried the other PortApps sync programs, but they seem to be much more slower than FFS. E.g. Synkron looks very good, I have tried it over the last years a few times, but it always runs very slowy and unstable on my system. After starting a compare, sync or analysis the view becomes milky nothing seems to happen and after minutes a result is shown or you can see it running.
