Finally caving to pressure from the players, the makers of Furcadia have listed instructions for making the game portable.

I have yet to try the process myself so I can't, at this time, account for it's efficacy.

Finally I managed to change my USB sticks to have a partition that is seen as a CDROM drive on Windows. With the tools from the chipset manufacturer i can copy any ISO to the emulate partition of the USB. I wonder if there is any way to configure the PortableApps like the U3 software. That is, put the core software in the partition of the CD, and install other applications on the normal partition.

Hi, new member and loving being able to take my favorite apps with me on my pen drive.

Just one question with regards browser apps. If I am using my company PC but on my home network does anything get saved to the laptop or does it all get saved on to the pen drive? Sport websites are blocked at work but I can get on to them at home. If I use firefox portable or any other browser, will there be any history of me being on the sport websites left on my laptop?

While I was browsing DeviantArt I noticed this set of Portable Drive icons, guess what one of them are. Its a HDD with the portable apps logo (Did he ask permission for that?) its really cool. Just wanted to share with everyone, wouldnt it be cool if we could make one like that one.

You can set that as your drive icon in the AutoRun file.

Times displayed on the web site are formatted (apparently) in US locale and the values are in some timezone, that is one of US timezones, I guess.
As the site is visited from all over the world, at least the information about the used timezones should be available somewhere.

Or use a one line Javascript that displays times in the viewers timezone (and format).

I'm a new user of the portableapp suite. Really love having these apps with me on my usb stick.

When I use the suite on my notebook at work (xp), all of the apps work except for FirefoxPortable, SudokuPortable, SunbirdPortable and StartPortableApps. All four pop the error "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. ...". When I looked at the properties of the executables i noticed that all the working apps appear to be signed, and the non-functioning apps do not appear to be signed.

This may be a dinosaur item, but it would be extremely helpful. I'm working out of my home office quite a bit recently and would love to find a simple phone dialer application. I'm spending a good amount of time on the phone so being able to hook a phone line up to my PC, put on my USB head set, dial and talk is all I'm after.

I've talked to may friends, and get pointed to Skype, Google Voice, and a number of other places. Not what I'm after. Don't need, nor want, to sign up for a new pay services when all I want to do is use what I have.

Where's the old Windows dialer?

We've had some reports of download issues from some users in Puerto Rico and Australia in the last day. Specifically, we've had reports of redirect loops where the file will just keep redirecting back and forth until Firefox gives up. This first came up in the Firefox Portable 3.6 comments.

I have downloaded the installer a couple of times, thinking it was the installer but the same thing happens every time.

I start the installation to my desktop and the download begins at a fast transfer rate. It will only take 3 minutes. After about 2 seconds of downloading the transfer rate drops to .5kB/s or .3kB/s.

Has this happen to anyone else, if so what can I do to fix this? Thanks.
