A quick launcher <40k. needs given more features...

Submitted by cch on March 10, 2006 - 11:58am

I've just found something interesting.
A quick launcher less than 40k, portable and green of course.
It's called "floater".

The zip is 32k, and the main program is 40k only.
Unzip, put shortcuts in the items folder, and run.
Then a quick launcher with shortcuts in the items folder will appear at the left-bottom of your screen.
Except launching, you can only click the left border of it to minimize it.
Not even move it, too bad. >_

Is there any way I can reference windir in pstart? I have a lot of apps added, such as notepad, etc) but some computers use c:\winnt and some use c:\windows. (I would like to keep the icons)

Regshot/Regmon Filters

Submitted by Jace on March 8, 2006 - 9:04am

Are there any filters or settings that I can use so these programs only show the registry areas that should be considered for portability. i.e. are there any areas of the registry that can be safely written to and a program still be portable. When I run either Regmon or Regshot I get a bunch of registry changes but not all of them seem to be related to the program I am testing. Does anybody have any tips or suggestions to narrow down the list. Thanks

Disconnect USB automatically

As you all knows after connecting USB hardware, new icon on the tray appears where you can disconnect (safely) your USB hardware, so you will not loose any data.
But there are few problems with it:
- maaaany clicks
- even more clicks if the drive isn't prepared to be disconnected ...

So I would like to ask, if anyone knows a script or something (or maybe there is a special executalbe with some extra parameters) that after running it will try to disconnect device over and over again until it's finished.

What about submitting own apps.

I think I have invented a real portable network killer-app.

The good thing: It´s available for windows ans linux, has the same commandline-syntax and supports the same file-format. The best thing ever: It´s damn tight and solves many many problems using about 25 different internet-protocols.

So .... wanna know more ?
