Hi All,

Recently I have been experiencing complete (random?) disconnects of my portable HDD.

My setup:
After dropping/destroying my drive once as a result of moving my notebook, I now use valcro to stick my 2.5" HDD case (Vantec NextStar 3) to the back of my notebook monitor. Then run a short usb cable to my usb port on the side.

I'm using PAM 2.0 Beta 3 on a HP nc6220 running XP Pro SP3.

Is there a way to automatically sync files on memory stick with files on computer each time you plug it in?

I'm sure there's some software out there that can do this.

I just joined Portable apps yesterday and I thought I got to a page that listed thousands of apps. For instance if I click on the games link I get to a page that has around 10 games on it. But I thought that I got to a page yesterday that had several thousand games on it. I can't seem to get to that page again. How do I get there.

not long ago i have decided to start using office as a portable version because office official it's like a cancer a miliom msi files a milion files a milion registry key's not to mention office genuine advantage problems any way also not long ago i have installed windows 7 which is a great operating system but now i can't use portable office anymore i'v tried downloading 2010 portable version but no luck what can i do now and is there someone out there working to fix the problem?

After numerous failed attempts to download the full application Suite I am wondering why there is not an official p2p/torrent release like OpenOffice.org has. I find that to be the fastest and most reliable way to download. It not just for pirates

Anyone here run FreeOTFE off their flash drive? How does it compare to TC?

It says on the site:

Why did the firefox logo get so bad from 3.0 to 3.5? I personally think that the new logo looks too cartoony. I looked at my FFP files to try and find out which icon it was but I couldn't find it. Does any one know what it is?

I have looked over the last few months at a range of email programs - open source, freeware and commercial - some portable - and have come to a few conclusions. I haven't been exhaustive with links to each app, but they can all be found with a few simple Google (or your own favorite search engine) clicks.

I just recently installed PortableApps on a 4 GB flash drive. It's a very handy tool, but it's just slightly annoying to have to open PortableApps manually. Is there a way to make it start-up automatically when I put the flash drive in a computer?

Anybody seen this? The Staples ad this weekend has it. $25 if you buy a computer, $50 otherwise, comes on a flash drive that says exactly that on it (topic title). Looks generic, but nicer than your average SanDisk Cruzer.

I was just flipping through that, and the Best Buy ad looking at flash drives and portable hard drives wondering when I was going to see a flash drive preloaded with PortableApps stuff, which I know is a ways off, when I saw this.
