Does anyone know if they compressed it using 7-Zip and UPX? It is a good broswer, but it is quite large at around 22MB.

P.S.- John, they used your launcher. (Slightly modified)

Ceedo Personal v1.1 Build 4.0.4174.1 was touted at CES 2006 as a major blow to the U3 platform as well as open-source apps. The software acts as a buffer between the application and the OS, saving everything to its own registry. At Lexar's CES booth, they had Picasa running straight from the flash drive. It is available for download at www.ceedo.com.
Does anyone have any experience with using Ceedo ? What are the Pros vs. Cons of the Ceedo platform ? How does it compare to U3 and/or PortableApps ?
It seems to me a great deal of USB-connected disk space would be required to run ones favorite Windows programs. Also at what speed do the apps. run at etc. ?

Well.. I've read some post regarding issues such as if a thumdrive can occupy all these apps and if my thumdrive can last longer.
I'm also thinking about this issue.
Notebook HDD (in portable case)
- 40 GB
- Small but of course a lot bigger than a thumbdrive.
- Long lifetime span.
- Can hold a lot of read-write activities.
- No headache thinking that my thumbdrive is getting hotter.
- $80 (RM300 well, I'm a Malaysian)
Thumbdrive.
- 1 GB
- Can be attached to your keyring (and I have lost mine once )
- Long but not so long lifetime...
- Can also hold a lot of read-write act but far below a HDD.
I read recently in the Request Apps forum of two firewalls you can run from your USB drive (ghostwall and AS3 Personal Firewall). I was wondering if anyone could tell me how these work? What, if anything, needs to be done to configure these apps to run from your USB. At home I have firewalls (software and hardware) on both my computers, but in the event I bring my external drive to surf with Portable Firefox while travelling, I would like to be able to quickly start a firewall while I surf and then stop when I'm done. I encourage all my friends and family to use firewalls, but some just don't want to use them, hence my interest in these portable firewalls.
I saw that you are going to make a suite update after you release PortableThunderbird 1.5. Will you be releasing some new apps as well? (Like PortableKMeleon and/or PortableGIMP)

any portable weather programs available?
Lads, just stumbled (again) acros the portable version off KDE Pim suite (http://www.pi-sync.net/) wich has a portable version wich should run from an USB stick. (http://www.pi-sync.net/html/download.html) does anybody have recomendatiosn regarding other PIM software? Or user experience with this suite?
I'll be happy to read about it.

Lads, just want to share this, just curious to check if the Pstart would work within a linux session I started it with wine. Must say I am impressed with it, it just works out off the box (usb stick) and even the other app wich are on the stick are running from the Pstart app. Superb!!
So probably you could use it on more systems, not only windows but also some linux boxes.
Even the pstart button is in place. Fabulous. I must admit that I am flabbergasted.

are there any special considerations for CDRW? I saw somewhere that they should be in packet mode, what is this?
