API for latest versions

Submitted by brianfeucht on September 14, 2020 - 2:03pm

I'm looking to automate the installation of a couple portable application into a build process.

I was wondering if there is an API available to get the list of version for a specific application. I'm willing and able to just scrape the web pages, but I was hoping there might be a more official and sanctioned way to get this data.

Thank you!
Brian

Persistence with AIMP

Submitted by cfrost on August 20, 2020 - 11:47am

New to forum. I'm trying to use PortableApps platform across machines with a flash drive, specifically with AIMP. When I load up data onto the common flash drive, it stays while I use a specific computer, BUT when moving to another machine, if the DRIVE LETTER CHANGES all of the associations from that drive are lost. How do I make the apps on PortableApps truly "portable?" THANK YOU, in advance, for your help.

Any change about 64-bit apps?

Submitted by mrgou on August 17, 2020 - 2:37am

Hi,

I was wondering if there was any chance to see the policy around 64-bit applications evolve in the near future. IMHO, I find the statement that "there is normally little or no performance benefit from running a native 64-bit app instead of its 32-bit build" somehow disputable and I would really love to see some important apps in 64 bits (in my case, I'd like to see FireFox, Thunderbird, LibreOffice and Inkscape in native 64-bit builds).

How to set download folder for Google Chrome

Submitted by chiterence@gmail.com on July 20, 2020 - 7:17am

This might be a simple question. I am using a USB to carry all the portable apps. It works very well except when I change computer, the USB drive letter also change. I set the Google download fold in the USB itself e.g. e:\download. This doesn't work for different computers. Any solution? Thanks in advance.
