Does Infrarecorder make any changes to the registry?

Have just completed the installation and configuration of an account in Port Tbird on a 32 GB thumb drive. Port Tbird does connect to the account in Yahoo and tells me there are 66 messages, but then is unable to download any of then, eventually telling me "There are no messages to download".
The account in Yahoo.com is one of my throw-away accounts and I confirmed that there were unread messages to download. However, Port Tbird attempts valiantly to do so, going around and around in circles, but finally gives up saying "There are no messages to download" which is untrue.
There are quite a few other apps which are already portable, but not a PA.com app. Since I don't exactly know how to create apps (and don't want to, actually. Some manage to update themselves and PA'ing them would most likely destroy that), I'd like to simply add links to those other programs to the launcher.
It seems that Free Download Manager, though licensed under the GPL, has not released their source code for the current versions. Gord contacted the developers and they replied that it's unavailable at present. I've posted more publicly in their forum here attempting to get it:

When I go to right click the application to Close Window to let Portable Apps run in the background, The whole thing closes. My computer was just upgraded to Windows 10.
On my Windows 8.1 OS, I was able to right click the application, Close Window and it still appeared in the System Tray.
I followed an article in another post about changing the Windows7TaskIcone=false to true, but that doesn't exist in the portableappsmenu.ini config file.
Please help.
I use mostly portable apps, also on my home desktop comupter (running Windows 7), and is very satisfied with this approach. However, as more and more people are upgrading to Windows 10, I wonder if anybody has any thoughts or experience with using portable apps under Windows 10.
Well,we all use our USB flash to run our portable apps on schools, work or somewhere else. It's cool to be able to use apps anywhere without installing them. But frankly many of us enjoy it until some virus attacks our USB.It's a great frustration. Our apps become lousy, our daily work gets buggy. So what should be done to prevent our USB from these viruses.(Although full control is impossible.)Let's share experiences, guys.
I have portableapps instaled on my hard drive and on a usb drive. I've recently noticed that is I check for updates on the hard drive
installation of Portable Apps, the updates are detected, dolwnloaded and installed...but the usb drive installation does not detect the updates.
Is there a setting that forces portableapps to look only at the drive where I start it?
thanks in advance
At 6:59pm NY time on December 2nd, SourceForge.net's security certificate expired. This results in most visitors being faced with a "This Connection is Untrusted" or similar page when attempting to visit SourceForge. As most of our open source downloads are hosted on SourceForge and all traffic is redirected to HTTPS, this means many of the files are inaccessible to end users.
Hello to all,
I created a small portable application to use in conjunction with portable programs on USB key, for example. "PortableApps", which allows you to export a portable program from the stick to the host computer using three methods:
- Copying
- Creating an installer
- Installing it directly on the host PC
and I am looking for someone who wants to help me doing the beta-testers.
The small program is still under development but almost fully functional (beta 0.5)
If someone wants to help me know.
Thank you in advance.
