Taskcoach crashes when opening an existing file

Submitted by MobileUser on September 15, 2014 - 1:05am

I use TaskCoach on a daily basis and would like to thanks to your term providing this program.
This was a nice program until I upgraded it to 1.4.0 version.
Everytime I open an existing file in Chinese format it crashes.
There is no problems for other files in English format.
I have never had this problem.
It is fine if I load the same file with the version of 1.3.39
I believe that the there is a bug with the latest verion.
Can you please look into this issue? Thanks in advance.

[Fixed] PA.c Installer says 'not enough free space' when installing via platform to UNC path

Submitted by bamboo on September 11, 2014 - 8:25am

I am storing apps on a large NAS with lots of free space.
Several times I have seen this issue, where it is reported that the target device does not have sufficient space ... the current problem was with 'seamonkey.' ( I don't know how to paste the message into this note.) Other apps that download at the same time do update however.
I have tried the update of seamonkey by itself with the same resulting error.
Any suggestions?

Good app to put my computer to sleep at a scheduled time?

Submitted by trust on September 9, 2014 - 7:49pm

I could not really find what I was looking for, with the search.

I used Daxtar's Shutdown Timer so far but I have just discovered the sleep function does not work with newest Windows 7 updates. Or at least with my machine/the updates I added; instead of putting my computer to sleep it just logs off (then it runs the whole night; which I do not want).

The solution does not necessarily have to be portable; just more convenient than Windows 7's built-in solution.

Thanks in advance

bad new design

Submitted by Korg on September 5, 2014 - 5:28am

hello everybody...,

I`m using portable apps now for 5 years without any bugs and stuff like that and I really use it every day!

It always works flawless and I like it really much! Thanks for that! Smile

But dont get me wrong...dont you all agree with me... that the new launcher design(s) are totally shoddy!?

For me its like a disimprovement, sorry.

Hope that this will be fixed soon!

cheers Korg

Windows ME Compatibility

I just got a computer running Windows Millenium Edition and I have no install disks for a more recent operating system and it doesn't have an internet question. Before I set it up, I would like to know if I can run programs (specifically portable apps) that are compatible with Windows XP on it. If not normally, then can I use a crossover program like how you can run Windows programs on a Mac?

Community: Thoughts on hiding 'portable' by default in the menu and app directory

Now that the 'Hide "portable" in app names' functionality is better supported in the menu, app store, and updater, I'm debating enabling it by default. It's a bit silly to see the word portable listed so many times in the menu. Particularly when the user is aware they're using portable software since it's through the PortableApps.com Platform. Users will still be able to manually switch to showing " Portable" or ", Portable Edition", of course.
