ok im having some trouble installing ccleaner and other piriform programs, can anyone help
I use my PA flash drive both at work (XP), home (vista), and school (vista). I have an autorun.inf file that just tells it to run portableapps.exe and gives it a new icon in Windows Explorer.
For some reason, every time I plug it in at home, it comes up that I need to format. But if I go into Windows Explorer I can still open and run anything (sans my fancy icon)
Any thoughts?
Hi,
I am a very big user/fan of portableapps.com, I am also very grateful for all the apps that it has released!
Without being to ungrateful - how long do we need to stay tuned!?!?
It has been a very long time that the last portable app has been released
Kind regards
XSLord
I downloaded the full suite and when I started installing it on my USB Thumb Drive, my CA Antivirus flagged one of the files as possibly being infected.
** 6/1/2010 23:10:57 PM File infection: F:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\PortableAppsPlatform.exe may have unknown infection. **
On doing a regular scan with CA, it states that file is suspected of being infected with Win32/ASuspect.HDCCC
Has anyone else run across this?
Thanks.
Hi All
I've setup a secure tunnel using portable putty. I am planning a trip to Europe which I am going to use free hotspots in pubs etc.
I want to setup all traffic to be piped via my secure socks proxy.
Is it possible to setup to use Portable VOIP apps via Socks?
Thanks
Paul
When browsing the application list, there is no hint to tell which are the newly updates. So, I think it would be better to put the latest version date alongside the name of the software. It would even be better to add an arrow showing "New" for updates within the past 2 weeks.
I have an Asus Eee netbook. I have installed the Portable Apps console and a bunch of Portable Apps software, on a USB flashdrive, to use with the netbook. My problem is that the Portable Apps console sits too high for the little netbook screen, so I can't access the links to the software at the top - and I can't seem to access the top section of the apps console, so I can pull it down lower on the screen.
I'm having trouble reading (and posting) comments on news pages due to, I believe, the Digg.com applet which lets you submit the post to Digg or whatever. The page renders up to and including the Facebook Share applet, but it takes forever to load the Digg one. To the tune of 30-60 seconds.
Why has my C drive now been renamed portableapps.com and why does it have a flash drive for an icon? portableapps is malware and it will be reported as such!
