portable search

Submitted by Draugen on August 9, 2007 - 7:33am

Anybody who know about any portable application that can search through my hard drive? On one computer I use ( not my own computer) i cant use the basic "search" thing because the administrator on the computer have made it so that no one without admin account type cant use the "search" option in win xp Sad So if anybody have some suggestion to what kind of software I could use, would be fine. I want to have a stand alone program that can do that.

I would love to have a portable version of miro, it is open source and runs on both linux and windows. If any one can find the time to make this app portable i would appreciate it very much.

DéKiBulle

I realise that VLC Portable already can play audio files, but I found DekiBulle, which is a audio only player. Might be kind of nice for people who primarily listen to music and don't want the video. It is open source (under GPL).

some of the features include:
- Using of the folders arborescence (for a fast and easy acces to you songs).
Multilingual (English, French, Spanish, Esperanto, Italiano, Swedish, German, Czech, Dutch).

- Multiformat (MP3, WAV, OGG, WMA, MPC, M3U, PLS, AIFF, MP2, MP1, CDA)
(+ FLAC, MID, WV, SPX, AC3, AAC, M4A, TTA, APE, MAC, OFR, OFS in option).
