Info:

Hi everybody...
I am often on the road at university or elsewhere, so i adore portables very much Smile ...i often get inspiration when my desktop isn't at hand, and my laptop fails batery after half an hour (old crappy thing it is)
So I would appresciate a portable Guitar Editor very much, as perhaps do a lot more creative ones Smile

Project 64?

Submitted by Ngy368 on August 15, 2007 - 1:28am

I've looked around the site for a Portable version of Project 64, and found what looked to be a promising link, but it didn't work. Can someone point me in the right direction to where I can find a N64 Emulator, or make one if possible.

Sip Softphone?

Submitted by birdog on August 14, 2007 - 7:34pm

SipXezPhone is an open source softphone and SipXPhone is a java based open source sip softphone that I know of. If you could get any sip softphone it would be great.

BTW - these tools are already a Sys Admin/Tech Supports dream so Thank You to everyone involved in this project.

WinShell - LaTeX IDE

Submitted by idb on August 14, 2007 - 5:48am

Hi all,

WinShell is a free multilingual integrated development environment (IDE) for LaTeX and TeX. The program includes a text editor, syntax highlighting, project management, spell checking, a table wizard, BibTeX support, Unicode support, different toolbars and user configuration options.

WinShell, which is already portable, can be combined with portable LaTeX

AutoUpdate either portableapplication core or the installed programs

Submitted by GnF on August 13, 2007 - 6:43am

For me portable applications has everything i need. The only thing that gives me a hard time is the updates. Lets say ClamWin gets updates once a week. That makes me to download the new and change it with he old one. My suggestion is to integrate into portable applications a way of auto update the programs a user might have and comes from here. Maybe an individual update of only the programs someone might want and not all of them would be a nice idea.

Thanks for everything Biggrin

PopTray

I realize this was mentioned earlier this year in the development form, but I wanted to put in a request here because it looks like a useful app for somebody who wants to keep tabs on email without needing to open Thunderbird (especially on an older system where resources are limited and launches would be slower).

2D Barcode generator and reader

Submitted by limextreme on August 12, 2007 - 7:44am

Hi everybody! I feel as if I'm posting a lot of weird portable apps request but is there a portable application that could generate and read 2D barcodes such as QR Codes (used in Japan, scanned with mobile phones). I found a good program. Unfortunately it's in Japanese but it's free but I'm not sure if it's portable.

Even if you can't read Japanese there are some English text that you can read oh and the Windows 2000 and XP Versions work for 98,ME and vise versa.
