cant u make Opera run on my poertable apps?
I was wandering through portablefreeware.com, and I stumbled accross a couple of open source file recovery tools that look interesting.
One of them is the discription from the FileExtractor home page:
FileExtractor is a free (open source) tool for recovering files from a binary data source. Sources such as digital cameras, partitions, harddrives, memory sticks or floppy disks may be corrupted, deleted or formatted by mistake. Once the file system is destroyed you need a tool such as FileExtractor to recover your files.
The website is http://kkfileextractor.sourceforge.net/
Hello guys, this is my first time here. I'm using many of the portable apps and I found them very helpful, the reason I'm writing here is to present an application which I write in Visual Basic which it will make the use of portable apps more easy. Shortcuts Launcher is a small toolbar placed on the top of the screen with space for 10 shortcuts. What you have to do is to use "EDIT" button and add the applications which you want to start with a double click from this toolbar. The application is BETA, that means that it maybe contains errors/bugs and I'm also open for any suggestions.
In addition to OfficeRecovery.com's FreeUndelete, (which I just found through this site), I've used Restoration 2.5.14 by Brian Kato, link here. This program is also found on MajorGeeks.com and Softpedia.com.
Need xchat. Official build is non-freeware, but opensource. But there is good pre-builded xchat - http://silverex.org - GPL and Free. It need .bat file for running in portable mode, its my:
set PATH=\PortableApps\xchat\lib
xchat.exe -d "\PortableApps\xchat\settings"
:end
exit
Anyone can make it in NSIS format? thx
Anybody who know about any portable application that can search through my hard drive? On one computer I use ( not my own computer) i cant use the basic "search" thing because the administrator on the computer have made it so that no one without admin account type cant use the "search" option in win xp
So if anybody have some suggestion to what kind of software I could use, would be fine. I want to have a stand alone program that can do that.
Program: Wormux (Worms clone)
License: Open Source/GPL
Description: A Worms clone.
Have the mascots of your favorite free softwares battle in the Wormux arena. Using dynamite, grenades, baseball bat and others bazookas,... exterminate your opponent in a 2D toon style scenery and a funny environment.
Can We Have An App That Can Secure A Drive, But Make It Portable
I would love to have a portable version of miro, it is open source and runs on both linux and windows. If any one can find the time to make this app portable i would appreciate it very much.
Workarounds for the issues in Windows Xp's search (text within text files) do not resolve the issue completely. Users have turned to desktop search utilities such as Google Desktop or Microsoft's own Windows Desktop Search.
