Microsoft Office Viewers

Submitted by eturfboer on March 5, 2007 - 3:53am

Hello all,

I would like to request a new bundle of applications. Maybe you heard about the existence of the Microsoft Office Viewers (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc). They are free to use and downloadable from the Microsoft website. What I would like to to with them is view my 2007 files (.docx, .xlsx, etc.). So the compatability package should be also available.
The new office viewers (version 2007) are not available yet (AFAIK), so it should be the MS 2003 Viewer + compatability pack.

Let me know what you think.

Greatings,
Eddie Turfboer.

portable downloadmanager, wackget or any other, someone has still the source?

Submitted by guestt on March 4, 2007 - 12:19pm

There was a thread about portable downloadmangers here. Results in short:
- there are not very much open source downloadmangers
- wackget was suggested for portable use

The problem is that the developers website is offline. Someoen else owns it now. I can`t find even the non portable version anymore.

Could someone resume this project?

AIM Portable

There's this great new Application called AIM Lite (aka AIM ET) available to download at http://x.aim.com/laim/. Its an extremely small file, and has many features of regular AIM (file transfer, IM logging, Buddy List® management, friendly names, basic custom away messages, auto-hyperlinking, filtering, Offline IMs, themes, plugins, and messenging while away with extremely low memory usage. While it wasn't designed to be so, it can be run from USB.
