Request Apps

As a web designer ont he move this type of software is invaluable to me. What about a freeware version of the Color Schemer Studio software. I sometimes work for clients who don't have an internet connection in certain locations, so getting to the online version of this can be a nightmare...

Just to say that I'm a satisfied user of TextMaker (WP) and PlanMaker (Spreadsheet) from Softmaker.

These are non-free, but inexpensive (69 USD or 69 EUR for both apps on WIN32 AND Linux), and IMO excellent.

They are relatively small (about 35Mb for both), and already portable with a simple installation routine described here:

Other: It`s almost portable, just the settings are not saved.

Description: This program can force *any* program (which doesn`t support to use socks proxy including dns request) from "outside" to use a socks proxy. Dns can be resolved remotely. It can be used as a app launcher awell. Worth a look imho, guess it`s not that complicated.

I'd love to see an app that can strip the useless data from picture files once they have been completed and no longer need editing. I know of a great one for PNG files called PngOptimizer, but can't seem to find one for other image types. I know jpeg files are already compressed, but they can still contain useless data and can be made smaller. An open source tool to work with these other image formats would really be helpful. If you know of any, let me know.

I did search on this app, yet it wasn't talked about in the slew of other programs that were slapped with it (even though it was the first on the list). I looked into it. It's Freewear as far as i read. Mai Question is thus: Is it portable? and if not can someone please port it for me? I'd do it, but i have no clue how to port apps. Thank you in advance for any help towards this.

anyone think a system loocker would be a good idea? yah know so if your usin portable apps somewhere public (like school or the ofice) noone could mess around with what your doing. request is out \(oo)/

I am using Locate32 at the moment for file searging and indexing. The program is in a zip file but uses the windows register for settings. You can download the Source code on the webpage.

Does anyone know if winMd5Sum leaves anything behind? John recommended it back here but there's no mention of its true portability.

I love its compare function, which for some reason most of these MD5 hash generators don't have.
