Request Apps

Got a suggestion for an app that should be portable? Post it here.

umm... Freecell?

Submitted by Jorlwind on May 26, 2006 - 1:52am

God this sounds stupid.. so you should know the story.

Sweet and to the point. Freecell dissapeared off my mom's computer. She loves freecell, and expects me to get it back. Problem is I can't find the file on my comp to copy/paste it to my USB for a 'freecell' transfusion

I was hoping more technical people could help me find it.. and since it's needed in the context of a 'portable app' I was hoping i could get alittle help...

please?

Open Workbench

Hi everybody.

I'd like to request a portable version of Open Workbench (http://www.openworkbench.org/).

Open Workbench is an open source Windows-based desktop application that provides project scheduling and management functionality and is free to distribute throughout the enterprise.

Open Workbench would provide functionality roughly equivalent to MS Project.

Thanks!

Portable iTunes?

Submitted by matthall28 on May 24, 2006 - 10:53pm

Would it be posible to make a portable version of iTunes(windows version). I use iTunes all the time, and like it more then any other media player. Could you make it work from a portable device?

Portable AutoIt

Searched through and didn't really notice anyone asking about a portable version of AutoIt. I love using it for small scripts and would like to be able to take it with me on the go instead of having to install it.

Anyone care to take a stab at it?

Thanks

Have a autorun like app that can prompt you to start a app.

I bought a new USB drive recently and it had some security app pre-installed on it. I removed it. But that got me thinking. Was not aware that a autorun.inf would work form a USB drive. SO, is there a simple way to make a autorun.inf that can start up and ask me if I want to launch one of my installed portable apps.

I could probly make somthing using flash that would do this but I would have to update it every time I add a app, with me lacking programing skills, figured there is someone out there that would probably make a app that can scan the portableapps directory after th eusbdrive is inseted and then come up with a menu to launch on of the apps, or browse the drive.

It would be nice to put files on my calc using machines where I don't have install privileges. And I'm 99% sure that it's licensed under the GPL or Lesser GPL.
