An auto-run feature would be a nice addition to the Portable App Menu. There are various programs that I always run when I plug-in by USB thumb drive (i.e.: Server2Go & Gmail Notifier)

I greatly value yahoo messenger. It's the tool that allows me to contact my parents overseas. However, my school has removed all messengers and I can no longer install it on the restricted system.

I am wondering, why anyone has not tried to make it portable yet !!!

a very happy new year

i had installed this soft ware of yours on my 2gb pny pendrive. it ran smoothly for a few hours. i used my friends laptop to get some important files. probably it haddd some virus and after that i am unable to open my pen drive.now it show the message that you need to format this disk.on trying to format it says that disk is write protected .now i can't access my drive. what should i do.
also tell that is there any way of removing there software form my pen drive

i only got the chinese website. www.xunlei.com i only get the pc setup exe but i am seeking a portable device of it. if got any information please help me seek for it. by the way if got any other portable downloading software that can introduce to me thanks... (^^)

Like XAMPP's ability to be dropped into a Linux "opt" directory and be run, a 'Portable Package Manager' that can be dropped into a Linux "opt" directory would be enormously useful.

It would work like the already existing Synaptic Package Manager, or if permitted, an actual "Portable Synaptic Package Manager".

Please add irfanview portable, I know, there is a gimp but it is too big for only viewing photos.

I write a Linux Blog called linuxglobe.wordpress.com, I am strongly disappointed that NO Portable Apps from AbiWord, Audacity, GIMP 2.4, KompoZer, Scribus, Inkscape, Firefox, to Thunderbird, are NOT available for the Fedora 8 OS or Ubuntu 7.10 OS for that matter. Linux is becoming a major threat to Windoze and Portableapps could really help BOOST Linux in so many ways. Also, I use my MAC for other tasks and NO MAC OS X 10.4/10.5 compatible Portableapps are available, this too must be remedied, not everyone in USA is using Microsoft!
