...and a portable DAV client?
Program: MUSHclient
License: He has placed the code under this license: http://www.gammon.com.au/forum/?id=7744
Description: MUSHclient ... FreeWare MUD client
Website: http://www.gammon.com.au/mushclient/mushclient.htm
Other: Not sure on the registry entries. Will post again when I find out more.
Nick Gammon recently opened the source of MUSHclient. The source code is availible at: http://www.gammon.com.au/files/mushclient/src/ The most recent version is 4.18. I'm trying to talk Nick into making the client portable, but not sure how far I'll get.
Hi all,
WinShell is a free multilingual integrated development environment (IDE) for LaTeX and TeX. The program includes a text editor, syntax highlighting, project management, spell checking, a table wizard, BibTeX support, Unicode support, different toolbars and user configuration options.
WinShell, which is already portable, can be combined with portable LaTeX
For me portable applications has everything i need. The only thing that gives me a hard time is the updates. Lets say ClamWin gets updates once a week. That makes me to download the new and change it with he old one. My suggestion is to integrate into portable applications a way of auto update the programs a user might have and comes from here. Maybe an individual update of only the programs someone might want and not all of them would be a nice idea.
Thanks for everything
I realize this was mentioned earlier this year in the development form, but I wanted to put in a request here because it looks like a useful app for somebody who wants to keep tabs on email without needing to open Thunderbird (especially on an older system where resources are limited and launches would be slower).
Program: FreeMind
License: Open Source/GPL
Description: A mind mapping program.

Hi everybody! I feel as if I'm posting a lot of weird portable apps request but is there a portable application that could generate and read 2D barcodes such as QR Codes (used in Japan, scanned with mobile phones). I found a good program. Unfortunately it's in Japanese but it's free but I'm not sure if it's portable.

Even if you can't read Japanese there are some English text that you can read oh and the Windows 2000 and XP Versions work for 98,ME and vise versa.
I'm not sure how much demand there would be for a tool like this, but I found an open source driver backup utility called DriverBackup!
here's the discription from SourceForge:
Simple tool for backup hardware drivers' files. DriverBackup! preserves drivers of your hardware peripherals from injury of time, saving important files into a specified directory. So you can use these files to reinstall your perip. without CDs or Floppys.
The website is: http://sourceforge.net/projects/drvback/
I saw this app and thought it might be useful for somebody who needs a basic spreadsheet app, but is limited on room.
It's an open source spreadsheet editor. According to the web site, it allows for creation and manipulation of spreadsheets, and can handle some basic formulas.
Does anybody know a portable (freeware) application that would rip/extract audio from video files (and also DVD)? Oh and I need it to work on all Windows operating systems... Thanks!
