GTK Portable

Submitted by abeckstrom on September 8, 2006 - 11:43am

Would it be possible to build a portable GTK? This would be great to have installed once on the thumb drive and then any other portable apps running on the same drive would only need to point to the location of where GTK was installed. This would be great for Gaim Portable, Gimp Portable, Grisbi Portable, Scribus Portable, etc.

Codec Pack

Submitted by Petlydecker on September 7, 2006 - 11:56pm

Hello,

Would there a be a codec pack that could be extracted to the jump or flash drive in the near future? Maybe something like a K-Lite Codec Pack? Any advise would be appreciated. The reason is that I have both VirtualDub and TMPG Encoder on my flash or jump drive minus the codecs.

Fantastic website and forum!

Thanks,

Peter!

I have this thing called VirtualBoy Advanced for pc and w/ that, you can run GBA and GBC (game boy) game roms, and i have Mario Brothers (The origional) downloaded. Could you make it so that VirtalBoy Advanced was portable? I tried to search around here but didn't get much.

Or is it portable already? I really don't want stuff being put on the other computers.

thanks

Worldcraft Editor (aka Valve Hammer Editor)

Requesting app: Worldcraft Editor (aka Valve Hammer Editor)

Im not sure about the other people here but I would really like to have a level editor for the goldsrc and source engines. The official editor seems to store all settings in inf files and boots fine, you can find 3.4 and 3.5beta online very easily (run from usb drive no problem) however it needs some game files/paths to run correctly. We probably just need some basic textures for it to run, I dont have time to mess with it right now. Maybe someone can check it out. The other alternative is GTKradiant.

EDIT: I forgot to mention t

ssh and programming editor app

Need some editor that does syntax highlighting, formatting/indention, code completion, ascii codes, partial code collapsing, shows diffs, can save text files in *nix format, useful for multiple languages, has a Linux equivalent that I can get in Ubuntu/Debian. I will be programming in assembler, Python, Java, C, C++, Perl, bash, and maybe VB. Most that I've found concentrate on HTML, only do half of what I want, are non-free and most of all, are not portable. I have Linux LiveCDs, but want to do some work/study in various places where booting another OS might freak some people out and get me in trouble.
