PortableApps.com Platform

[Bug] (Windows 10 Home 64bit v 20H2 b 19042.746 Installed in C:\Users\me\Sync\PortableApps) When Start.exe runs, the menu displays improperly. The window is too short for the list. There's an extra space at the top and items run off the bottom edge and are not visible. The power and close buttons are shifted to the left. The PortableApps.com logo is missing. It stays like this unless I change the theme in the Options dialog. No matter what I change it to, and even if I leave the them unchanged, the menu then displays correctly.

I have PortableApps platform installed. It is configured to check for updates on launch, which I do manually.

Most apps seem to behave well, except qBittorrent. Today I was told that v 4.3.3 was available (my existing version is 4.3.1). When I instructed it to update, it went through the motions and said 'update was complete'. When I examined the version running, it still said 4.3.1.

Can I install PortableApps on a data carrier that is also used for other purposes without losing files?

Hello good afternoon, I always used the PortableApps.com platform, but one thing has always bothered me: not being able to change folders in the start menu (documents, videos, music and images).

Please incorporate this in the options ... it's kind of useless, but it would be a good one for those who like to organize their folders to their liking.

I known in the past that you were against Portable apps from having nested categories. I remember a long time ago someone actually forked portable apps and was able add it. However I can't find that source anymore, to try to update it.

Here are my reasons why I think you should reconsider adding this into the platform.

The update mechanism used to work but recently (for no apparent reason) has consistently produced this error:
"Unable to download the file. This could be due to a proxy or network issue or the hosting server not permitting downloads from your location." I'm located in Israel.
I tested updating only specific apps via the updater with the same results.

I would like to know if it is okay to install the portable apps platform on a Laptop with Windows 10 Home edition on SSD drive and then install the portable apps I would like. Would it be easier to install updates of the apps as well would there be any issues with the windows start menu or any other issues. please provide details thanks

Just in case anybody else is interested:

I wrote a tool that reads the portable apps directory (configurable, defauls to c:\PortableApps) and adds them to the Windows 10 start menu.
