Submitted by Christian Hartmann on December 11, 2009 - 12:23pm

The FREE PDF-XChange Viewer offers all the feature's you would expect such as support of all PDF file formats from Version 1.0 all the way to the latest 1.7 (Acrobat 8)

You might be surprised just how quickly your large PDF files open and pages smoothly refresh as they are scrolled.
In addition to all the standard features here are some of the features available in the PDF-XChange FREE Viewer

* Add Comments and Annotations to any PDF file (subject to security settings) - unlike the Adobe Viewer which requires the PDF creation tool to be 'certified' by Adobe !

Program: Gnumeric

License: part of the Gnome project

Description: a versatile spreadsheet program with many predefined functions allowing a basic user much of the simplicity of a scientific/business calculator.

Web Site: http://projects.gnome.org/gnumeric/

Description: http://projects.gnome.org/gnumeric/functions.shtml provides a list of the many functions available. While OO Calc is a great tool Gnumeric provides an "ease to use" not present in typical spreadsheet programs.

Fairstars CD Ripper - freeware

Submitted by vjuhasz on December 9, 2009 - 7:55pm

Hi,

There is an excellent freeware CD ripper app available here:
http://www.fairstars.com/cdripper/index.htm

It is special because it rips CDs directly to MP3, WMA and OGG formats, both fixed and VARIABLE bitrates. Variable bitrate WMA rippers are really rare on the market.

Would be possible for someone to "portabilize" it?

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
