Looking for app for MS ACCESS

Submitted by SanJuan75 on July 24, 2007 - 9:32pm

Currently have MS ACCESS 2003 at work and have a DATABASE I created in ACCESS 2000. Always making adjustments to the database and looking for a Portable App that I can put on my Camera's SD card which I have put into a USB case. This way I can make updates to the database using my home computer which does not have MS ACCESS.

Thanks for any guidance/direction/suggestions.

Hello!

I'm looking for a way to use, on an USB flash drive, a website written in Php and using a SQL database.

Is it possible to install such apps on an USA as the server to run the website?

Thanks,

Pierre

CD/DVD Burning -- Anything at all that will install to a thumbdrive?

Submitted by Sean on July 24, 2007 - 4:02pm

I have a DVD burner in an external enclosure that I would like to use on public PCs to burn disks for others from my thumbdrive. Even if not designed specifically for portable use, has anyone had any luck using any software for DVD burning that will install on a thumbdrive?

Password Protection for USB Key - NOT Encryption

Submitted by DaveI on July 23, 2007 - 8:34pm

My old USB Key DISKGO had a small utility (SecureGuard)
that locked the partition and required a password to
unlock and read the Drive/Key. It was not Encryption
software like TrueCrypt...

Unfortunately I didn't research my new drive (Corsair Voyager GT)
enough...It came with FREEWARE TrueCrypt...I don't want encryption
software and I don't want to either have to load the program on
a PC (requiring to be ADMIN) or to use Travel Mode (Also requiring
PC Admin rights)...

Rapid PHP IDE

This software is not free, but it's pretty cheap - I think around $30.

In version 8 of Rapid PHP, they added a capability to install it to a USB Stick.

I would like to see the ability to add this to the PortableApps menu, even though you would need to buy the RapidPHP sofware separately. Perhaps similarly to how XAMPP needs to added to the menu separately after it is installed.

A decent graphics program

Please

GIMP is actually awful to use, terrible non-intuitive interface.

please could we have an alternative?

eg: Paint.net

which has layers and quite easy for me to teach newbies to use.
they can't use GIMP and give up.

BTW, I am a Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro user and teacher,
please trust me on this.
