RSS reader with offline capability

Submitted by timmy on July 19, 2007 - 7:27am

I have searched and found some portable RSS readers, RSSOwlPortable is one of them.
However, I would like to get one with capability for offline reading of RSS articles with pictures included in the article. Many feeds include pictures, and in all RSS reader I have tried, the article text is available offline, but not the pictures and other embedded files.

Would be good if that could be done, so that I can read RSS feeds from my USB stick when sitting offline.

Any hints?

POV-Ray?

The Persistence of Vision Raytracer is a high-quality, totally free tool for creating stunning three-dimensional graphics.

As far as i can tell this is open-source, and i am not to sure if it is actually possible to make this portable because i don't know that much about programming or porting...

Remote desktop

Submitted by AJNAZARIO on July 18, 2007 - 2:33pm

Can we or do we already have an open source type remote desktop app we can use?
Can we develop an easy to use remote desktop app? Would it be too difficult to do so?

Reason is that sometime we need to use something that is just way too big to carry on a port drive, so remote-ing in would help. for example access pics or vids or files on your home desktop or server etc...

Just wondering.... let me know...thanx in advance~AJ

Req. ICE Book Reader Portable

Having this piece of software would allow users to read .Lit files Portably

I have tried on numerous occasions to make msreader portable but no joy.

This one, I got about 50% of the way to a portable just by copying the files across to another drive and deleting but it leaves a lot of dross in user folders and the registry.

Portable QTParted

First I would like to say that I am very pleased with all the portable apps I have been using and I think this is a great idea and great community.
I am not sure about all the details on this program but I do know QTParted is licensed under GPL v2. This might be a good app to make portable so now you can have a partition resizing program to help with dual booting. This may be a good app to look into.
