Portable App Development

Greetings

I have been attempting to make a game I play portable using the PortableApps Launcher Generator and this website's documentation. The only thing I really need to do to make the game portable is to redirect some registry accesses.

I eventually managed to create a launcher which I thought was what I needed. Unfortunately, I have been having problems running the game and I have narrowed them down to the initial registry settings. Basically, when the game is installed, the installer creates some registry entries which have to be present for the game to run properly.

So for reasons of a project Im planning, Ive been playing around a bit with Portableapps.com Platform, trying to refresh my memory about how everything works. I had looked back at some posts I had submitted and followed over 4 years ago. At that time I had been eagerly awaiting some features to become available. The developers implied that they might (and I do understand that it was "might") be implemented in the "next platform/version". 4yrs later, I can't tell if Im just missing it, or the features were never implemented.

This client i believe is now the unofficial client, and will not work with the servers.

the new client is called ManaPlus. it can be portabalized and take the place of this old client, possibly, but i dont even think this on works anymore.

i am new to this so correct me in ANY thing i fail to do ok so i just wanna know how to make a request don't know if this is the right way but whatever just let me now and i wanna request a portable version of wizard101 i really need it for certain reasons ^^ is it possible to make it portable? and the site is Wizard101.com

I've noticed that there is a glaring problem with 'automatically' starting a portable app. Whenever I shutdown my computer, or the power goes out, and I restart it (I could set it to automatically boot in BIOS), my portable apps throw an error that I did not close them properly, then instruct me to restart them manually. For me, the only portable app that I automatically start is WinSplit Revolution, and it restarts fine, because it is not built to portable apps standards.

I want to suggest a new option on Backup Utility. An option to exclude folders before compression. Because, sometimes I keep full movies on my flash drive and it would take minutes to compress video files that I don't even want to make a backup of.

The subject already says it. I've created an online installer. Is it possible to extract the EULA from the downloaded ZIP and make the installer display it?

I think I would need some extract filter and maybe a rename or move?

Or is the EULA only displayed before downloading anything?

As I'm not allowed to include the binary in my DbVisualizer Launcher, I thought about downloading the binary when the installer is started.

At the moment I have the code shown at the bottom.

Now just before the "Delete $2" I need to unzip the downloaded zip file to %PAL:AppDir%

As I did not understand NSIS yet, can anyone please give me a hint how to achieve this?
