Portable App Development

Hello everybody, I'm Y3K, a new member of this awesome community!

The reason of this message (and my signup) in this site is a special request (yes, I know it sounds... "Weird", but I do really think it's necessary).

I'm pretty new in the "PortableApps" world, I mean, not the new using them but I'm with the "PortableApps.com" method, and I'm really satisfied with it!

I always asked myself why no one could make a Portable App with everything in order and where it should go! Without leave ANY "path" behind its use, and finally you guys do it, and thanks for that.

TeamViewer v5.1.9290 is out since 2010-10-06.

May I again suggest some improvements to whoever currently develops the offical PA.c version?

My suggested changes for TeamViewer v5.1.91.92 still apply, plus the files

X:\PortableApps\TeamViewerPortable\App\teamviewer\Connections_incoming.txt
X:\PortableApps\TeamViewerPortable\App\teamviewer\Connections_outgoing.txt

need to be moved between "Data" and "App\teamviewer" folders upon program start and end, respectively. (Only if they exist, of course.)

This is a portable version of iTunes 10. I create it with win rar. who want to learn have to write a message for me. Excuse me for the bad english but i'm italian...

I have a problem when making a program portable portable launcher 2.0 in all the programs I get this in the log file I get this ERROR: [Details]: Name [Details]: AppID or [Version]: Not PackageVersion files found in appinfo.ini

Hi, all I've made a portable app using the Launcher, and it's licensed under the GPL or LGPL. The exact wording is:

"It is free software (free of charge and free access to source code: GPL or LGPL licence)"

My main goal is to refine the application and make sure it's not fatally flawed, with the help of my fellow developers here, before telling the original application's developer about it. This is to avoid showing him an unfinished/bugged program and having him decide he doesn't want any redistribution.

Questions:

Are there any plans to make a portable Java JDK available?

The extra tools and such it includes are quite useful for portable Java development.

Just a small hint to the development-team of Thunderbird portable - related to the functionality of Adobe Acrobat Pro:

Acro Pro offers a quickly way to sent the current opened PDF's via email. Therefore you just have to select file/sent as email and then Acro opens the current Mail-Client and attaches the PDF automatically - very practicable and very, very quick!!!

But it does not work with the portable editions :-(((

Regarding the possibility to us the server component of AssaultCube, I have a couple of questions:

Do both server and client have to be run simultaneously on the same machine?
Does anyone know what files the server needs?

is it possible to get an install/update log with the new portable application install program? I would like to be able to review what happened during the install and update process. This should be integrated into the installer, so that a log is available for every application distributed here (all new ones).

I downloaded the sources of PartableApps.com Platform and I know how to compile them.
When I compile the platform I have : "[Fatal Error] dialog.pas (7): File not found: 'pngimage.dcu' "
