Portable App Development

Hi there,

I have versions of firefox (29.0.1 and 27.0.2) that I need portable app's for but portable apps currently do not support this. I download the 29.0.1 .exe from firefox, extract the content, pull the firefox runnable exe and replace the it with the portable one from the PortableApp but this does not work. How can I generate a portable Firefox runnable exe from versions of firefox that are not offered on this site?

I have just installed EMET 4.1 from Microsoft and I have successfully enabled some of the advanced features.

But when I turn on ASLR 'Always on' - Portable Apps will not start properly.

I see the following error:

Application popup: PortableAppsUpdater.exe - Application Error : The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.

I can launch the GUI directly from the Portable Apps folder on the USB drive, and I can launch several apps, but many display the same error.

I suggest adding .ora to the list as a recognized filetype, showing as an image. It is an open replacement for .psd. See here for further info.

is a portable app creator as Cameyo or thinapp of portable apps planned? It should be simple to create portableapps like PortableApps applications.

If this isn't the right forum I'm happy for it to be shifted elsewhere.

I know this isn't exactly new but I'm wondering if anyone has any strong feelings about a preferred portable python?

I'm working on building GnuCash with python bindings (something famously tricky on Win so desirable outside of the PA universe as well as within) but figured I may as well go the whole hog and do it portably too.

Is SRWare Iron compressed using AppCompactor?

If so, which compression method was used to do so without causing problems with the performance or operation of the browser? I've tried compacting other random programs, just to see if it would work. It does compact, but I'd get error messages when the program would open or after doing certain things with the browser.

I am thinking about developing a new PortableApp but I come from a .NET/Visual Studio background. I looked at the guide but what I am really interested in is what tools and language people find best. If I need to learn new tools and a new language, I want to make the best choice I can. Thanks!

I am trying to make portable the program Hotspot Shield: filehippo.com/download_hotspot_shield

I created the portable launcher and when i start it it starts the program and the program icon appear on the system tray, but if i try to connect to the VPN network it doesn't work. Also if i try to go to the properties settings it doesn't work too.
The program installs a network driver and i think this is the reason why it doesn't work properly.

This is my launcher.ini file:

I need something I don't know if it's posible. I've downloaded the Chromium portable (and the portableapp installer too) and now I want to re-package Chromium but with the difference that the file ChromiumPortable.ini will be in the root folder (I want for example to set the homepage or to disable plugins installation... and I think the unique way is with the ChromiumPortable.ini in the root folder as says the help.html), customize the portable app. It is posible? I've tried to modify the AppInfo.ini with:
