Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition 6.0.1, it is missing a simplified Chinese version of the download, thanks.
I used to run portable Firefox from RAM drive but then I noticed that it still uses Appdata etc folders on hard drive. I did move Firefox cache to a separate folder in RAM drive though.
So, is it possible to run portable Firefox without using any folder or file on hard drive at all? (Appdata, Temp, Cache, Profile, etc) If possible, in how many places do I have I move paths in portable Firefox to make it use just one main folder...
Thanks a million in advance.
I've got an oldish computer which is short of RAM and slows down with a large page file.
I notice that firefoxportable.exe continues to run after it launches Firefox, and wondered what the consequences of killing it but leaving Firefox running were?
I tried creating a shortcut and adding -ProfileManager at the end but it still doesn't come up. Does anyone know how else to get this to pop up?
Thanks.
I just upgraded my Firefox Portable to version 6.0. Now if I start the program, nothing happens; I get the flash screen, and then the program quits. (I also have Firefox Portable Second Profile installed, and it gives the same behaviour.) I tried starting in Safe Mode, with the same result, although I'm not sure if I did that correctly; I didn't find a Safe Mode executable, so I ran it from the command line and added -safe-mode to the end of the command. Also, no error messages (or feedback of any sort) appears when I run from the command line.
Already tried this topic, but it doesn't work...

Also tried downloading new firefox portable edition and removed the data folder. But still the same problem.
Tried installing the desktop edition of firefox and also there the same problem. Removed the app with Revo Uninstaller, which also scans the computer for left overs, but still the same problem.
Tried to disable all plugins but still the same problem.

If I locally install a fresh copy of normal Firefox 6.0 on C:\ drive, what should I do to get the exact same settings, plug-ins, add-ons & extensions as the portable version? Which folders do I copy & where to?
Thanks for your time.
Andy.
I've found that currently Firefox 6.0 is incompatible with JRE 6 Update 26. On the other hand, Firefox 6.0 is indeed compatible with Java SE 7, but Java SE 7 is not yet available on java.com. In fact, I've found that with Java SE 7.0 occur currently some issues, because it's impossible to use websites with Java applets.
Is it not far more useful, that the download of Firefox 6.0 will offered earliest with the completion of Java SE 7.0 for end users?
I ran the automated updates for both Firefox and Thunderbird to upgrade to version 6. After restarting it goes through the 'applying updates' window, but then I get the following message:
"The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again."
After which FF/TB 5 are started normally. This now happens every time I try to start either program, causing considerable delay. I have tried both rebooting the machine and disabling add-ons, but the same error occurs.
