Firefox Portable

Hello,

I've got a little confused since it seems no longer necessary to overwrite the installation directory for upgrading Firefox Portable.
As a matter of fact, the "normal way" to update it (Help > About Firefox > Check for updates) effectively leads to an updated version after a relaunch of FF. Now my question : is it really equivalent, or are there any files that are replaced in the user profile or at another place (or maybe some that won't be updated at all) ?

After upgradeing to the 21, the flash plugin doesn't load. Previously I put the NPSWF32.dll into the Data/plugins.

Anyone can help?

the new firefox does not pick up in C:\portable\FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox plug ins the NPSWF32.dll
the previous version did.
any help would be appreciated

i seriously would like a response by your team here concerning this article.. and do you check the code before you get your versions? thank you for any response from your staff here.. sincerely tommy

Found a bug, not sure if anyone encountered it already. But while I was trying to figure it out, I tried searching for this error and couldn't get any help. I eventually figured it out on my own.

Here is the error:
Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.

Here is my environment, not all of it matters, but I will just put it anyway.

I stream various radio stations while I surf around using Firefox. Since an upgrade to 20.0.1 I notice that the stations drop out every now and then for a few seconds, sometimes I have to refresh the tab that the station is on. The problem I have now is that I have been using this interactive flash based tutorial and every time I click any button, the streaming radio stops and I have to refresh the page. Is there a setting that may change this or is it a bug that needs to be fixed? If so, where do I report a bug?

Is it ok to use Firefox SYNC in Firefox Portable; if so, what can I sync?

I know the Firefox sync feature is present on Firefox Portable but I'm afraid that synchronizing certain features, like add-on, will break Firefox Portable.

Can anybody shed some light on Firefox SYNC on Firefox Portable?

I've heard that copying NPSWF32.dll to the plugins folder adds flash for firefox. But to me thats not the case. I tried that and when i access a page with flash content firefox freezes and responds significantly slow, and it forces me to terminate its process from task manager.

I try to use the flash pluging with FF portable 20.0.

Version 10.1.102.164 works flawlessly except that it is outdated.
Version 11.6.602.180 lags terribly and is unusable.

I install the plugins manually by copying the NPSWF32.dll to the portable apps folder.

What's wrong with it?
