Thunderbird 13.0 upgrade broke under Linux/WIne

Submitted by darkstar on June 7, 2012 - 5:42pm

Hi - I noticed that PortableApps upgraded my portable version of Thunderbird to version 13.0 recently, and it is now broke when running under SuSE12.1/wine1.5.5. It runs fine under Windows7. I tried to run it manually with wine and got the feedback shown below. Anyone want to decipher this for me and help me get my poor Thunderbird back up and flying? Thanks in advance, Marc... -

Account Settings / Junk Settings , changes wont stick

Hi,

Thunderbird portable, 12.0.1 .

edit: I run it on a win7 64bit PC, on the hd.
edit: incase it makes a difference, I am running 3 different (different folders) installs of TBP, all 12.0.1 . Of course only run one at a time, but I have soo many email addresses, I group them into one of the 3 installs to separate business, from private, from outside interests.

I've been trying to tweak up the handling of the junk mail.

All "Seems" well when I go into "Account Settings" , select any account, change the settings in "Junk Settings", and than click "OK" and close that window.

Moved Portable Apps - TBird no longer working

Hi all,

I have just followed the instructions on moving Portable Apps and moved from a USB Key to the C: Drive for speed reasons until I get my mail files sorted out.

Firefox works. Thunderbird does not work.

The initial small TBird identifier comes up and the rotating circle appears for 10 seconds and then disappears.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can remedy this situation ?

Regards, Lethal
