logoMnemosyne Portable 2.3 has been released. Mnemosyne is a feature-rich flashcard memorization tool. It uses an advanced algorithm to determine when each card should be shown to maximize effectiveness. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Features

ScreenshotThe Mnemosyne software resembles a traditional flash-card program to help you memorise question/answer pairs, but with an important twist: it uses a sophisticated algorithm to schedule the best time for a card to come up for review. Difficult cards that you tend to forget quickly will be scheduled more often, while Mnemosyne won't waste your time on things you remember well. There are dozens of card sets available on the app homepage.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

Mnemosyne Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Comments

This last version of PORTABLE Mnemosyne doesn't work for me, it shows many error messages, for example:
- Traceback (most recent call last): empty
- File "mnemosyne", line 31, in <module>
- File "mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\__init__.pyo", line 10, in <module>
...

Anyway, normal (installed) version 2.3.1 works on same PC...

When you notice that an Official App is out of date please check the Outdated Official Apps thread to see if we already know about it, and if not please let us know on there.
There's a link to it on the "Development" page which is linked in the header of every page on PortableApps.com.

Also, if you come across a bug with a PortableApps.com app, please make a thread about it (if there isn't already a thread about it) with [Bug] at the beginning of the title.
(e.g. [Bug] Mnemosyne Portable 2.3 'Traceback empty' errors)
This way it'll show up in the Open Bug Reports list and likely be fixed sooner.
