That's interesting. I

That's interesting. I haven't sent you any code, yet you have a release already done? Did you base it on my old test code? If so, that's pretty much all I was going to send you plus some other batch files and tools.

If you didn't notice yet, my code to backup the file is incorrect as I didn't check for the existence of a previous save file and copy that in place before the app launched meaning the settings were saved from the previous game, but if you closed the app out and played again you'd start over, never using the previous settings.

Attempting to run

Attempting to run OpenYahtzeePortable.exe doesn't launch the game.

You have a .dat file in the root of the download. Delete it before packaging the app in the future. If that's where you're storing it, it needs to be moved to the /Data/settings directory in your code, not the root of the portable app.

Help file has all the info from the previous app. Flush all that.

Directories in your Other\Source\readme.txt say "HMNISEditDirectory" when the actual entries in the ini file say "SumatraPDFDirectory". Synchronize all those entries between the two files.

oops

I looked at your code, and decided to go from scratch from the HM NIS Edit launcher, which was based off the SumatraPDF Launcher. so really, its just some little nitty-gritty things to do at the moment, right? also, some details on your system, so I can narrow down the prob?
EDIT: New version, re-download and try.

App runs now. You're not

App runs now. You're not saving the high scores in the .dat file that's created in the root of the portable app and the setting for the app aren't preserved which makes me won't if the .ini file is being backed up and utilized correctly.

Crash

After getting a high score, type in your name and then click OK it crashes.

hmm, interesting. does this

hmm, interesting. does this happen when you are not using the portable version? also, try running the actual exe, not the launcher, and see if this occurs. plus some details on your system please (XP, vista, WINE, etc)
EDIT: after an hour trying to duplicate this, i can't. this could also be because of the fact that the latest version of OpenYahtzee out is 1.8.1, and this is using 1.8 because there was a special portable build.
