Remove AMO Extension Links from Applications List

Seeing that the extensions, such as the DownThemAll extension and FireFTP extension, are merely links to their AMO area, and not actual portable versions of the extensions, I suggest that they be removed from the Applications List.

There is no reason to call the full version portable if it is neither associated with PortableApps.com nor specially packaged in a portable manner. It can only cause confusion.

I'm assuming that these

I'm assuming that these extensions have been deemed to be portable for a reason. The extensions could be coded in such a way that it just works and does not need a specific PortableApps version. Are you saying they are not portable just because they are not a PortableApps version? or have you seen them leave settings behind on the host?

Once you go portable...

Their nature

It's a question of their nature. The vast majority of extensions for Mozilla apps are portable (practically the only ones which aren't are ones which integrate with other desktop apps and use their settings).

The points are that:

  1. We haven't done anything to make them portable.
  2. They're the stock builds.
  3. There's no real justification for linking to them.

well it's there because those

well it's there because those extentions work pretty well in Mozilla Firefox Portable Edition, I personally say leave them but move them into the Firefox page as suggestions instead of on the application page

Reason

The reason these are included is because they are high-quality, stable, portable extensions that work in conjunction with our main supported web browser and fill the need for specific apps that people ask for. Many people want a download manager and, rather than a separate one, should just use DownThemAll. Same with FireFTP.

We don't do this for all extensions, nor will we. Just for a few specific ones that fill a specific need.

A Notice to Users

Would it not be wise then, to clearly mention that these extensions are the versions from A.M.O. and are in no way made portable by the PA team, but instead, were built in such a way that they are de facto portable?

Umm

Umm... why? They are extensions. They're called extensions for Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition. And we point to their homepages. How is that not enough detail?
