Drupal Update - Site badges

I just noticed the new badges and wanted to share my thoughts about them:

I think they are good because they distinguish between Admins and normal users. So people know a little bit about the rank/reputation/knowledge of the person responding to their posts. Other forums have that too where you earn stars or something depending on your number of posts and I like it.

On the other hand I have to get used to the new look as they add a little more colour to the whole forums. I liked the fact that we had not as many pictures, blinking signatures, or capitalised/oversized text as other forums. The new badges are only a small addition compared compared to blinking text and such so my overall conclusion is:

I like them!

EDIT: About their size: I think they shouldn't be any bigger.
(just read the IRC logs and thought I add that here)

I like them because they show

I like them because they show who's who, but I think there a little big add rectangular :/ I think they would look cooler as a dot with the first letter of what they are (e.g. A for admin, D for dev, M for mod)

Temp Design

This is just a temporary design. They're gonna be more subdued shortly.

But what about Moderator and Developer? Those are two completely different things.

I'd almost rather see them in

I'd almost rather see them in the signature field . . . That way you can have both of the badges, and it unclutters the top field with the other information . . .

Rounded corners would be nice as well

They're taller than the

They're taller than the names, so IMO, they should be between the avatar and the username. As they are you have a tall avatar, short text (name), tall badge and then more short text. To me, it looks very disorganized. Also, usernames should be bigger, especially with the new badges.
On a positive note, I do like the idea and the badges blend in nicely with the overall look of the site.

Vintage!

+1 for most of that. I think

+1 for most of that. I think the size of the usernames is OK, but I agree about moving the badge between the user's avatar and the username. It makes sense from a psychological perspective, too - users reading left-to-right will notice the badge almost immediately.
As others have suggested, rounded corners would also be a plus; the way the badges currently are, though, is cool too.

Now my only question is "how do I get one of those?" Blum (I probably need to get an app officially released, right?)

"The question I would like to know, is the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything. All we know about it is that the Answer is Forty-two, which is a little aggravating."

They should be put to the

They should be put to the side of the names, not directly beneath. It creates unnecessary white space and looks blocky.

Blender page

What happened to the Blender page? One of the donate buttons has received a border no other button has.

New Design

The buttons sitewide are now our own custom design. Text inputs and textareas got a slight refresh, too. These are some of the bits and pieces of the 2.0 site redesign we're rolling out a little at a time.

Fixed

It was an old-style form button submit to PayPal directly. I've updated it to be a link to Blender's download page.

I left the style like that on purpose so we could root them out easily and update them. Many of the German pages are still the old style, but you don't need to worry about updating them. The new app page setup is nearly complete and they'll be auto-generated.
