Improving performance

Submitted by intheair on July 26, 2006 - 8:21pm

Hi,

I am running SEONote on a usb key. I installed it and copied the folder to the drive (nothing new...) . However, it is slow to load, apply new settings and also slow at closing. I tried Keynote and had the same issues. Does anyone have any suggestion as to how to improve the speed (and therefore the usability) of Seonote. Is someone using it finding it also slow ?
thx,

PortablePsi with GnuPG

Submitted by berland on July 15, 2006 - 1:29pm

Hi everybody,

I have a fairly short question: is there a chance to have a PortablePsi with GnuPG support?

I use PortablePsi already, but GPG doesn't work. That's no wonder, because AFAIK there is no way to point it to the executables and keyring.

Is there a way to get around this problem?

Thank you
berland

My Take on Ceedo and StickyDrive

Submitted by dford3772 on June 25, 2006 - 5:31pm

I have four flash drives from 512 to 1GB; guess I am becoming an addict. I knew that today when I realized
that with what I want to do 1GB is not enough LOL.

Ceedo is pretty neat as long as you are content to have only it on your drive. When I put other apps I
quickly saw there would be glitches. IE on it is the only version I've heard of that is available but it is
not Java enabled so there are problems with some sites. I'm wondering what will happen when IE upgrades
to new version. Does the customer have to stay satisfied with the old? They do have an update program once you have paid $40 but I wonder...The carrot and the stick for me (no pun intended) was the upcoming promise of Picasa but again I wonder.

Upgrade StickyDrive OpenOffice

Submitted by dford3772 on June 24, 2006 - 5:48pm

StickyDrive is a Windows environment which is free and quite fun to use. It has
a number of Haller's apps but I was appalled to see that the OpenOffice app is old
at 1.1

Am wondering if anyone has upgraded if using StickyDrive. The Haller Firefox was
no problem at all. The VLC player is great too. How to upgrade inside the environment of the program iw where I'm lost.
Thanks,
Donna
