I'm pleased to announce a new trial partnership with DuckDuckGo, the Internet privacy company, to host some of the downloads you will get from PortableApps.com. DuckDuckGo's popular search engine, tracker blocking extension, and mobile apps are built around user privacy and security, so their ideals line up perfectly with ours. We've been searching for a new provider for some time and this seems like a natural fit.
Hello again. 2 years, eh? 2 long years of getting a job, losing that job, then getting a new job. It's been hectic and left me little time to get back to things I really enjoyed. Like PA.c development and packaging. I'm a bit sad that some of my projects haven't been taken over, but I would like to potentially get the ball rolling again. I'll look through and see if any of them have been taken over, update my lists accordingly and try to derust again. Real programming has been a blast but tiring. So much has changed since I left, and I wish I had time to keep up.
It is with great sadness that I share that our friend and colleague Patrick "Tall Oak" Powell passed away yesterday afternoon. He passed while surrounded by his family. Patrick has been been a part of our community as vf2nsr for nearly 7 years and started working on app packaging in 2010. He will be missed by his friends, family, and colleagues in the open source and tech communities. We extend our deepest condolences to them all.
As today is my "kidneyversary", I wanted to again make a shameless blog post to remind everyone of the importance of being an organ donor. As some long-time PortableApps.com users know, I donated a kidney to my father 16 years ago today. Over the years, I've coached a few people though the process as well.
It's been a couple years since I last posted about this, but I felt it was worth revisiting today (apologies for the pseudo-repost). I wanted to again make a short blog post to remind everyone of the importance of being an organ donor. As some long-time PortableApps.com users know, I donated a kidney to my father 15 years ago today. Over the years, I've coached a few people though the process as well. If anyone is in a position where you're thinking of donating to a friend or loved one, I'm more than happy to share my experience and advice.
Hi all. I'm not sure who actually sees these blog posts, but I figured that I should do an update as to why none of my apps have been updated recently.
Short version: life offline has been really good to me and such, but it's left me with little time to devote to PortableApps.
I was at this point a couple of times, but never took the last step. But now I think its time to say goodbye.
Goodbye everyone (who still knows me) after not posting anything new, coding or taking part in a discussion for almost a year!
PortableApps.com is considering ending Windows 2000 support for certain products. This blog post provides the background, the reasoning, and asks for community input.

I know it has been sometime since I last wrote in my blog. Sorry all, I have tried to maintain my current apps and soon as I can restart development....That being said The real reason O wrote tonight is to say a great BIG thanks to John for all the work he has done given his recent injuries and especially for his none stop tireless and thankless sleepless days and night this past week in releasing the newest greatest PortableApps Platform to date.
