Say what it is

Just report it - please don't ask to report, just report. Until you say what it is we can't know what it is.

OperaPortable Bug?

Here it is:
Every time I run OperaPortable on a computer with no internet connection, after quitting Opera, the whole profile folder is being deleted...

Moved

The profile folder is moved between Data and App\Opera. This is by design so that Opera can use it while running and it is in the proper location when you do an upgrade or do a backup of your app settings. If you run opera.exe (say by setting it to default), it will mess this up.

OperaPortable

Hello & thanks, John,

I always run (usbdrive):\PortableApps\OperaPortable\OperaPortable.exe

The (usbdrive):\PortableApps\OperaPortable\Data\profile is the one that's being deleted!

The delete of the profile never happens when a PC is connected to the internet, and always when it is not...

Michael.

Nothing In Our Code

There's nothing in our code to delete Data\profile. It moves it from Data\profile to App\Opera\profile whenever the app is running. So, if you're watching it, it would appear it is deleted. But when you exit Opera, the profile is moved back from App\Opera\profile to Data\profile.

I've tried again

I've tried again, but really, when I run OperaPortable on a computer with no internet, the data\profile is not restored after quitting.

Michael.

Fixed in 11 Beta 1?

This should be fixed in 11 Beta 1. It's using the new PortableApps.com Launcher 2.1 Beta 2 release which should properly handle files being locked. It'll be slower on shutdown (it copies files since it can't move them since you're still using them) so they can be properly backed up and won't get lost if you upgrade before running it again, but it should work properly.

Fix Posted

This should be really and truly fixed in Opera, Portable Edition 11.10 Pre-Release 1. Please test and post any issues in that thread.
