Hi,
I've just upgraded to the new release, and it was nowhere mentioned, that it wouldn't remember ANY of my settings, bookmarks, etc. Very annoying. Otherwise it is a great application and I'm happy about it.

In the announcement, it states: "This update fixes issues with corrupted settings and will reset earlier version's settings to the default to fully resolve the issue." Unfortunately, as the original release was bundled with a corrupted set of settings, there was no easy way around this to actually get the toolbar and preview pane at the bottom functioning. The original release would lose bookmarks as you moved PCs as well due to errors in the launcher configuration. So, this was really the best of bad choices. I'm sorry for any inconvenience it caused, but hopefully you should be able to enjoy the app now.

I'm not going to receive any credit for this? I made the icon for this package and submitted this about half a year ago.

I built the main release based on a Development Test by mjashby, so he's credited as the packager. I did both revisions to fix bugs with the package (incomplete settings that didn't work right and didn't portablize favorites). I wasn't aware of a development test that you put together and if mjashby repackaged yours, you should be credited. Did you create the icon yourself?

Default Manager setting???
Where has this setting disappeared to?
I installed this as soon as you released it. Then when it was updated to rev 3 the whole section for defining Default File Manager has gone! Yet the option stills exists, but doesn't work if changed, in the config file?!
The app itself hasn't been updated since October 2010. Yet this setting has disappeared?! Why? It can't be the dev if the last update was 6 months ago!
If you removed it as it's to do with leaving stuff behind, shouldn't that option be up to the user to decide? I use QTTabBar as my default File Manager but I'm fed up having to reinstall and set up, add bookmarks and apps just how I like it. I've replaced almost every single app with a portable version and would like to have Explorer++Portable as my default File Manager. But I can't as you've taken that away!!!
I managed to get around it though by d/l the app direct from the dev's site and importing it into the PA.c launcher setup, but that means I have to perform manual updates just to keep a function you chose to remove without even asking if anyone wanted it!
Perhaps I've gotten this all wrong and it's a simple error, would you mind sorting it though as this is the closest I can find that will do what I want

No Default
Setting is as default is not portable and will mess up the local PC. It's removed on purpose. If you want a default, install the local version or install the regular zip version and realize that it isn't portable.

Is there no way you could leave this option in and just remove the setting from the PC on closing Explorer++? That way it won't cause problems should a crash occur or you forget to change it back!
I only use one PC so it doesn't affect me. I'm sure there are others who'd like to use this option?
Really Bad User Experience
As stated, it works differently and in that case it would use one set of prefs when you use it as default and another set when you run it with Explorer++Portable.exe, which is a *horrible* user experience. It's setup so you can't set is as default to avoid this (so there's no worry about forgetting to change it). If you want to set it as default, use the standard local version or the standard zip version.
