I would pay $300 for a feature to allow custom launching of apps. Here is how it would work from the Portable Apps Menu:
1. On the Apps button there would be an option, Add Command Line App
2. Choose the icon, or it would default to some built in icon.
3. Choose the name to appear on the menu
4. Choose the exe location on the USB Drive
5. The item would be added to the menu
This would allow all apps from http://www.pendriveapps.com/ or any other commercially owned apps to run without having to create a PAF format file. I own a license of Directory Opus and it would be nice to run it from the Portable Apps Menu.
Thanks,
Greg
I'm developing a cross-platform application that allows users to create simple exe shortcuts called, Propeller. No ETA at the moment though.
It isn't as elegant as a platform-based solution, but you can add any app to the platform by following this procedure.
That procedure worked great. Although it would still be nice for the end user to have some kind of wizard to do that.
Thanks,

I just donated $100 to PortableApps.com. Another $200 will be received when the feature is complete.
Thanks,
Greg Finzer
Donations to Portable Apps are not for development of software. The programs are developed by individuals. There is no need to Pay for anything Nor do the developers get any of the monies donated. That goes to the website and its many costs
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” Dr. Seuss
Thank you for the donation, we certainly can use it for server and bandwidth costs. I was on my phone or I'd have written in about how to add the apps you wanted (copying and pasting links isn't intuitive when you're sitting in a cafe).
You'll be happy to know we'll have some of these features in the near future. I hope you'll continue using and enjoying!
