Inkscape Portable 0.91 has been released. Inkscape Portable is an open source scalable vector graphics editor packaged as a portable app, so you can do your graphics work on the go. It has all the same great features of Inkscape including markers, clones, alpha blending and has a streamlined interface. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Good-sized Update
Just reading through the release notes for 0.91 - this seems like a pretty big update. Thanks for making it available via PortableApps.com.

You're welcome. It would have been out earlier, but the publisher changed their download infrastructure and we had to ensure it worked with the platform.
Very Buggy and not compatible with ver48.5
I have been battling all weekend with the upgrade to ver91 on 2 different computers. I would say it is not ready for primetime and I am downgrading to ver48.5 now.
Apparent compatibility issues with previous files created with ver48.5, latency issues with win7 x 64, intel graphics cards etc., and frequent crashes are enough to make me run back to ver48.5 where I got better performance and less frequent crashes.
I understand the need to move forward toward svg 1.1 guidelines but this rewrite using cairo engine is just not a close enough replacement of the performance of 48.5 at this time.

I just tested it out and I see what you mean. After opening Inkscape I tried File/New and the old dialog for choosing a size did not appear, then the new window disappeared behind the current one instead of staying in front as it has up until now. I will test further, but it seems like this new version has its bugs. I recommend that you back up your old version first.

If you have already upgraded to .91 and want to downgrade to .48.5 just uninstall .91
.48.5 is still available at sourceforge in the inkscape downloads and you can download it and install it manually using the portable apps launcher menu.
I use inkscape sorta like adobe fireworks. I have been following up with the bugs I find on .91 but have met with a lot of excuses...I keep getting replies like the primary function of inkscape is creating svg files. Well I not the one that programed and is advertising all of the non-svg features. I have to look at it like this being the simple minded person I am...if the features, functionality and stability was available in .48.5 and I try to use the same features in .91 and it crashes, freezes, is latent, etc. that ain't an upgrade.
I was really hoping .91 was going to be every bit as functional as .48.5 with a few more features and increased stability, but it is not the case. Still got my fingers crossed it will get there...use it everyday in my work.
