logoInkscape Portable 0.92.2 Rev 2 has been released. Inkscape Portable is an open source scalable vector graphics editor packaged as a portable app, so you can do your graphics work on the go. It has all the same great features of Inkscape including markers, clones, alpha blending and has a streamlined interface. It's packaged in Format so it can easily integrate with the Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Inkscape Portable is made available in conjunction with the Inkscape team.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the Platform.

ScreenshotInkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X, using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format.

Inkscape supports many advanced SVG features (markers, clones, alpha blending, etc.) and great care is taken in designing a streamlined interface. It is very easy to edit nodes, perform complex path operations, trace bitmaps and much more. We also aim to maintain a thriving user and developer community by using open, community-oriented development. Installer / Format

Inkscape Portable is packaged in a Installer so it will automatically detect an existing installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in Format, so it automatically works with the Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Inkscape Portable is available for immediate download from the Inkscape Portable homepage. Get it today!

For the confused, there was no official 0.92.2 release. There was a build that a problem was noticed with that was posted on the publisher site. The issue was fixed and it's been repackaged as 0.92.2 Rev 2.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Whenever I launch the PA platform, the updater (which is set to automatically check on startup) prompts to update Inkscape 0.92.2 Rev 2, though it already has been updated. Completely uninstalling (i.e. removing) the app doesn't help.
Please let me know if you need any more details (screenshots, system info etc).

This is due to difference in version numbers between Inkscape Portable and the updater database.

Inkscape Portable is showing a version number of whereas the database is looking for

We will get this fixed as soon as possible. For the time being, you can ignore the recommendation.

I've updated the updater database. We generally do a .2 at the end when it's a Rev 2 but didn't for this one.
