Hi. I recently noticed that at least some of the PortableApps apps now have "legacy" subfolders as well as non "legacy" subfolders.
For example, Stellarium now has StellariumPortable\Stellarium and StellariumPortable\StellariumLegacy folders. The same structure is present for Rednotebook.
Can you explain a little about this new folder structure?
If an installation is only going to be used with a single OS, can one or the other subfolder be deleted to make more free space?

I've been trying to piece together the details, and I think I've figured it out... partly.
This seems to be related to: https://portableapps.com/node/67329
If I then look at https://portableapps.com/apps/education/stellarium_portable
it mentions "The equivalent 0.22.x 32-bit version of Stellarium is also included for use on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 32-bit.".
This is a bit (no pun intended) confusing... I'm not sure if it's trying to convey that there is a 32-bit version included for 32-bit releases of Windows 7-10, or if there is a 32-bit version intended for all releases of Windows 7-8.1, plus the 32-bit release of Windows 10. Any idea?
If it's the former, then as long as you are using the 64-bit release of Windows 7-11, I think it may be safe to delete the "legacy" version of Stellarium. But that's just my guess from what I've gathered.
Further down on that same page, it states "System Requirements: Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10, 11 (Windows XP: 0.13.3)". This is a bit confusing as well. From where does this 0.13.3 version come for Windows XP users? Is that version downloaded instead for them?
Now, RedNotebook isn't listed on https://portableapps.com/node/67329, which is probably an accidental omission worthy of a correction.
Looking at https://portableapps.com/apps/office/rednotebook_portable, it appears that Version 2.29.3 will work with Windows 10/11, RedNotebook v2.26 is bundled and will be used on 32-bit Windows 10 as well as all releases of Windows XP-8. It doesn't specifically mention Windows 8.1, but it implies that v2.29.3 will work with it (it's not "Windows 8 and earlier"), but I have a hunch that it won't. I think a little clarity may help there too.
BTW, does this mean that the upstream RedNotebook project stopped supporting anything before Windows 10 after v2.26, and made that change at ~v2.27? It's rather strange that they would make such a big change at a sub-point release, but as they say, "to each their own".
This structure has been used for years now. It's similar to 32 vs 64-bit. But sometimes there's a legacy version for Windows 7. Or Windows 7 and 8. Or the 32-bit version has to be used to 7/8/8.1 as well as Windows 10 32-bit. If you only use it on a single PC or a single OS, you can likely delete the others but make sure you run it first as some folders will be moved around to save space (locale, etc). Not that this isn't supported and if you break it you can likely just reinstall it over itself to fix it.
