Moved to a pre-release topic here:

Just found this one, I think it would classify to me as the best open source desktop note taking program out there. Apparently all of its settings are self contained, and I can verify nothing in the registry. I think if it were put in the PortableApps Format, and a launcher was created, a lot of people would benefit from it if PortableApps.com hosted it.
Here's the link.

Who agrees with me? It's got a few extra languages too.

It looks like a cool, and useful app.
I'm replacing my stickies... this one is smaller and more eye candy...

I have no signature again...
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report
It's all about the Eye Candy. I wouldn't suggest A Note, because it's not THAT nice, but this one is, and already portable, I see no reason not too add it, could I get your opinion John?

This looks and works much better than the other sticky note apps that have been discussed. Sadly, it's Windows 2000 and up only, but it's so much better than the others, that I think we should run with it.

It opens my saved messages on next start - perfect.
But you forgot a
newadvsplash::wait
at the end of the Launcher so it leaves the newadvsplash.dll behind in the TEMP folder.

I installed it over RC1/PR1 and it "remembered" my previous notes.
Nothing in temp remaining.
I like this thing

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
Thanks, I'm glad you saw the same things as me, "it looks and works much better than the other sticky note apps that have been discussed". Thanks, it's working great.

His name's Andrey, not Andrew, I've never heard the name myself, so I can see how you may have assumed it's Andrew.

I noticed that after release and mentioned it in the email I sent him.

His "Tabbed Notepad" seems to be a good program as well, simple, stylish, useful.

And its settings seem to be self-contained as well.

If you haven't found this "hidden" feature do this...
On a note, right click on the icon in the upper right (pencil/paper?) and select "Adjust" then the "Schedule" tab.
It doesn't trigger a sound event or anything. When the time comes around the note gets moved to the center of the screen to remind you of the note.
Has anyone "hacked" the skin files yet? I tried changing the extension on one to .gif, .bmp, .png, .jpg, and .tif and they wouldn't open in an image viewer (I wish it was that simple ). I'd like to see some colored theme skins built for this app so we could have different colored notes like in the other notes apps.
BTW: ..\PNotesPortable\Other\Source\Readme.txt is for BrutalChess.
EDIT: According to the Help file -> Credits, the program uses .png images. I wonder why I can't open them then with .skn changed to .png? If you look in the source code in sharde.c, the very last procedure listed is what loads a .png file from a .skn file, but I don't see how it's done (I don't know C). Easier way would probably be to email the author I 'spose.

The skin files are renamed DLLs. I missed the readme.txt. I'm posting PR3 now to fix a help file issue.
