As stated in the forum Guidelines, please search, as Paint.NET has been requested before, and it requires the Microsoft .NET Framework, which many computers do not have. As for Smart FTP, it seems it is not open source and you have to pay after the trial, so it cannot be modified.

As above, the .net framework has been discussed over and over.
Not all computers have it, and certain version do certain things. Having no experiance, I cannot vouch for it, but believe them. Besides, why risk having something on your flashdrive that may not always work?
Get the GIMP. Its flexability is over the top. Yes, it has a steep learning curve, but you've just got to get used to it.
Use Miranda IM. It to has a "learing curve" (the intial startup is confusing, but the program isjust setting up to log into your accounts.)
Please also use proper grammer and spelling (at least so that it could be right.

to add to this maybe it could be released but with the note that it requires .NET framework so it may or may not work on every computer.
for those that know that the computer has .NET it would be handy.
i have made a sort of portable version on my own though using a .bat file to run a .reg file to clean up the registry after closing. i use "nircmd" cause i didnt want the command line window to show while Paint.net was open the whole time so it hides it.
the shortcut command-
"D:\Portable Programs\Paint.NET 3.08\nircmd.exe" exec hide "Run.bat"
the reg file i use
PaintDotNet
regedit /S RegRemov.reg
since Paint.net creates the entries on each load i only need to remove them at closing.
I'm planning too add what I'm writing here on the request apps forum, but it is still too early.
There is one guy that is porting Paint.NET to mono, that way being Paint.MONO, but the project isn't usable yet, so the app isn't available yet. Soon as it is available an executable I will post an article on the Request Apps Forum for Paint.MONO Portable with Portable MONO (both open source, as you all know). But it still is too early and there are no executables :(. Plus, I'm afraid that it is only for linux, I'd like it available for both platforms, that way I would have the official version on my pc (LINUX) and a PortableApps Version (Window$).
EDIT: Opps!!! I forgot this is the request apps forum :D.

i use mac
but... paint.net will be great and a lots of computers have netframework....
...on these boards, ".NET" is not nearly so common as ye apparently imagine.
IOW, "lots of computers" is - to put it mildly - a blatantly overreaching pipe-dream

And a portable VNC for remote control? no?
There already are portable versions of VNC listed on this website.
There's a search button on this website...look into it.
