I've just uploaded a pre-release of OpenOffice.org Portable 2.4.1 This new release updates OpenOffice.org to 2.4.1.
As this is the first portable release in all the six official PortableApps.com languages for OpenOffice.org, we're running a pre-release first to ensure that installer, launcher and the App work properly (rather than being irresponsible and just rushing it out for the sake of having it done quickly.)

Please test and post your findings, thanks...
I've just tried to download the english version and the download never started. I tried with both firefox and IE and neither worked.
None of the links work in FF3...
EDIT: None of them work because the filename/link is wrong. For example, the correct link for the English files is here:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/portableapps/OpenOffice_Portable_2.4.1_...
Get the other versions:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=151265&package_id=...

English does not work in FFP2
Times out.

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
I added to my post above pointing to the correct links/files.
Additionally, if you look at the actual links above to the non-English files they all have an HTML in them which will doubly break them.
Use the links on my second link above to get the files.

Thanks,
But I was just testing the link to confirm.
I'm at home on a modem right now and there's no way I'd actually try it.
I'd fix the links but there are a few and I don't want to mess up.
I'm going to send Marko an email now.
Thanks,
Tim

I've played with it on and off this evening when I had the chance, and it works well in both vista ultimate sp1 and on my older win2k laptop, and leaves nothing obvious behind.
... wrong filenames in the links.
Should be fixed now.

English link still wrong. It's ending with "?", not "?download" like it's supposed to.

A small glitch: The text of the download links tells it's version 2.4 but it should read v.2.4.1. Maybe there'll be more testers attracted when this is corrected
Fixed
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
... next time I'll take more time to set up the page.

File mismatch: I happened to notice that the "java_readme.txt" seems to be in German although the package I downloaded was for English (and the UI is in English). Don't know what else might be mismatched but I didn't notice any menu or help file problems
The "java_readme.txt" file is located here: x:\...\PortableApps\OpenOfficePortable\App\Java
2.4.1 prerelease 1 seems to run okay but I don't have the tools to check for registry changes so I can't verify any of that "portable" aspect.
Beta 3: Make note this "java_readme.txt" might be a problem in the version 3, also. It's German in the English Beta 3 openoffice portable I have, but I won't make a Beta 3 post because I can't find it on the PA site. I suspect I downloaded it here but ... I give up
Bh2ooo
java_readme (and all other readmes) should be in English in all versions and only German in the German package.
