Firefox Portable

I'm using firefox portable 3.5.6.
When I install the coooliris addon,when I use it to watch videos on youtube,hulu,the addon says I need the flash player installede on my computer.

I do have the plugin in the ..\FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins directory.

So,how does this happen?And how can I solve it?

OK, this is weird.

I'm running Portable Firefox (3.5.5) from a flash drive on my work PC (XP) that does NOT have Firefox installed on it.

Every once in a while, a Firefox shortcut will show up on the desktop and low and behold an installation of Firefox in the program files folder. I uninstall it and sure enough a day or two later, it installs itself again. I never see the installation window for this happen.

Is Portable Firefox trying to up[date itself, but somehow installing a fresh version on the hard disk? I'm perplexed.

Now I own computer, so I plan to switch from FF to FF portable non-portable. It's as simple as just copying the entire profile? or there are files that are not compatible? For example is that the bookmarks are easy to export but i dont know how doit with other things (history, extensions, etc etc)

I have been using the Standard PortableApps.com Suite for more than two years and have been VERY pleased. I regularly use Portable Thunderbird, with the Lightning addon, Portable Firefox, and I added RoboForm2Go and a diary program to create a great portable "office". I even created a batch file to open all four programs, converted it to an executable, and added it the PortableApps menu.

For the past few months I've been having problems and believe I've narrowed it down to Portable Firefox.

Why is the process started by FirefoxPortable.exe (3.5.2) sometimes FIREFOX.EXE and sometimes firefox.exe? It is in both cases the same executable X:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\App\firefox\firefox.exe

I am the one that asked for 3.0.15 release and now I'm doing the same with 3.0.16 hehe.

I really want to update, but some addons will be disable if I do it. For example, I have SwitchProxy and despite here says it's compatible with 3.5, it really screws up my Firefox. It's not my fault, as I have read in Bugzilla website.

This came up in another topic, somebody did make a Firefox persona for PortableApps.com, but IMHO it doesn't look right.

I'm unsure if it's Firefox itself or the portable version, but Firefox has gotten a little "Crash Happy" since I've upgraded.

The majority of the crashes are occurring with Facebook apps. On the upside, Firefox isn't freezing up to the point I have to kill it.

I just want to make sure that it's just not me having this issue.

i am downloading the fire fox and i was just wondering will it bypass any internet blockers, such as astro blocker, this is the one that is on my schools computers

How do I get Firefox Portable working with Java Portable? The upcoming version of Firefox, 3.6, will only support Java 6 Update 10 and upwards. I installed Java Portable, which is supposed to be Java 6 Update 17, to X:\portableapps\CommonFiles\Java as requested. My Firefox is installed to X:\portableapps\browser. When I load Firefox 3.6 Beta 4, it does not see Java Portable....
