things do need to be as less confusing for some of these people.
i will be looking into some of the apps in the post https://portableapps.com/node/5229 when i have time.
any thoughts, comments and advice you have would be much appreciated.
I'm not sure if this will work for you or not, but there is a pre-release of BPBible Portable in the beta testing forms.

An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

http://www.crosswire.org/jsword/ might be an option for you.
(Sorry for the fact that all of my suggestions are portable apps that I've made, that's just the way it is!)
I would recommend BPBible Portable first of all, which is currently at Pre-Release 2, and should be being released within the next few days, God willing. The current link is https://portableapps.com/node/15389
If BPBible isn't for you, you could also try another app, which is much lighter, LcdBible Portable. Although it's no longer being developed, it is a very good, very quick Bible program, and comes with the World English Bible (note that it only supports one version).
P.S. if you try BPBible Portable, it'd be nice if you'd leave a comment
As for Bible Desktop (part of JSword), it won't work properly portably yet by default. Once we get Java platform integration for portable apps, then I'll probably have a look at doing it. I like doing Bible apps In the mean time, there is Portable BibleDesktop, which I haven't tried, but which looks as though it should work, and which many people have had success with.
