XUL Runner issue

I am the same person who wrote the https://portableapps.com/node/26023 entry.

The reason for my downloading TB 3.1.7 Rev2 was that my TB 3.1.4 gave this message when I tried to run it earlier today:

XUL Runner
Error: App: Name not specified in application.ini

As I retained TB 3.1.4 in a separate disk, I can use it instead of TB 3.1.7 Rev2, if someone helps me to resolve the above 'XUL Runner' issue.

I have just discovered that the 'XUL Runner' issue has led to the complete wiping out the Inboxes of two of my three accounts.

Thanks

Paul

I would back up all and then start from scrap on new drive, which you check first for errors by some checkdisk etc.

when new version installed, then you can try to simply copy paste the mail folder from one profile to other, this works fine.

To install extensions, well, one can copy them to, but I would not do so, rather install them fresh, so you know they are the right version.

abook.mab can be copied to, will work like that.

Thanks Otto

I have done that.

I need to be more diligent with my backups from now onwards.
