USB eject reminder

Submitted by philwaud on April 6, 2008 - 5:11pm

Hi all

Ive been looking for a way of displaying a message to remind me to unplug my portable drive when I logoff. I know from the numerous messages all over the web that i am not alone in this quest!

Ive had an idea, its not quite there yet but it may bear some fruit!

Create a new web page, edit it so the html reads something like this:-

cache files

I just logged on and noticed the new forum icons.(they look very pretty, btw)

Anyways, I was just wondering if the icons were the only things changed about the forum, or if there were other, more subtle changes included as well?

Just curious...

Custom Packages

I have and idea. Sense we allow people to host their own apps why don't we have people host their own "official" (or "non-official") PortableApps.com suite packages if they wanted they could host support for non "PA.com" portable apps. What do you think?

Sumatra PDF + FireFox

Submitted by Jacob Mastel on April 4, 2008 - 1:55pm

I was at school the other day browsing with my wonderful portable firefox and accidentally opened a PDF. I thought oh crap here comes Adobe. Well after waiting for it to load I downloaded it and used our wonderful Sumatra PDF portable. I had an idea. Could we create a plug in for FireFox that would make Sumatra PDF open the PDF within the browser like Adobe does? I looked at the mozilla website and I didn't see anything about creating your own plugins does anyone know where I can get some info on how to do it?

I want to know why mac on a stick is on PortableApps. I've wondered for a while it is the only app that...

1. Requires downloading of illegal files or owning something
2. Is NOT hosted on portableapps
3. Is NOT in PAF format
4. Does not include every required file
5. Is not 100% open source
6. Does not have announced updates
7. And to top it off, there is an open source alternative, Linux
