my usb keeps been renamed portableapps 4 no apparent reason help!
Is there any way to make any of the files open with a specific program. Such as a video from the "Videos" folder open with MPlayer?
this is a collction of suggestions for the actual software (the menu that appears).
1. i think that the list of apps should be ordered bu when they were last used and not alphabetically. I have a long list of apps and find scrolling down cumbersome and unhelpfull. I feel that if the apps were ordered by which I used most recently (across all computers) I would find the software a lot more useful and easier to use.
Is there a portable version of the Halo trial I could download so that it would not save anything to my hard drive nor my registry?
Ryan,
As you probably know, there are new versions of RSSOwl, your portable version does not work on Vista so I'm looking how to update.
Then my question is, can I update it just replacing the App in the App folder? and/or Are you planing to release a new version?
Thanks in advance.
I am using a 250gig external to run Ubuntu 8.04, I set aside 10 gigs for my Ubuntu ext3 partition, 1 gig for the swap and the rest is ntfs for transferring between windows and Ubuntu. I use portable applications from here and I use a lot of the same application in windows and on Linux. I didn't want to use wine to run my applications since I have more stable version designed for Ubuntu. So i was wondering if the application roots (where they store their settings and data) could be changed to the same one?
I know Ryan did this, and that's why I'm posting this. I've started doing more ad-type projects in SS, and my copy of M$ Publisher is broken, so I started looking for an open source version I can portableize. I found Scribus, but Ryan already did this, but that prerelease was a long time ago. I'm wondering about the status of it. (We definitely need to get the pre-releases out.)
I have successfully used the FREE Berean Bible software on my thumb drives on several different computers with OS's ranging from WIN ME to WIN VISTA. The site is offering a new version that includes a "max setup" of ASV, BBE, ESV, NKJV, KJV, and WEB (about 7.5 mb) translations of the Holy Bible! Individual translations can be downloaded and installed too.
It is a no frills basic software, with word search, and i love it!
Having been around the forums a time or two, I noticed where a poster was running
I know that there are a few in the list but I am unable to install each one separately and use RegShot to check if they are portable. Does anyone know if these are portable? They are all Open Source Freeware games. I have provided links to their respective page on Wikipedia. You can find a link to the homepage of each program on the Wiki page.
